University of Southampton Experts
We are also very lucky to have the input of numerous experts from the University of Southampton.
Kris Strutt, Dom Barker, Penny Copeland and Tim Sly ran the Spring Survey at Basing House with us in 2013.
There are a few posts about the two weeks of surveying here (many written by Kris):
Kris Strutt
Kris Strutt specialises in archaeological mapping and geophysical survey. He is also the Director of the Archaeological Prospection Services of Southampton unit. We are very lucky to have his input at Basing House as he is very busy flying around the world working on projects such as the landscape surveys in Thebes and Antinoupolis in Egypt, in the area of the Isola Sacra in Italy, and at a number of coastal and other sites in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates. Kris also has an excellent blog, which he keeps up-to-date when he is on his travels: http://kdstrutt.wordpress.com/
